Skate’s Stateless Innovation Program (SSIP)— Cohort 1

--

Introduction to Skate

Skate is pioneering the development of the infrastructure for Stateless Apps, enabling applications to operate across thousands of chains (both EVM and non-EVM) with a single unified state.

The Skate team has identified a critical issue in the current blockchain ecosystem: Application Fragmentation. As we move towards a modular future with thousands of chains, apps remain monolithic, designed to run on a single chain. This leads to fragmentation and inefficiencies across various aspects of application deployment and operations.

Skate addresses this problem through an intent-centric application design, where pre-confirmations are secured by EigenLayer. This approach ensures a single state across all chains, benefiting both applications and the diverse blockchain networks they operate on.

Introducing Skate’s Stateless Innovation Program (SSIP)

Skate’s innovative approach unlocks new possibilities for apps, enabling them to create new primitives that were previously unfeasible. We are happy to sponsor and support the builders of the next web3 unicorns, fostering creativity and innovation.

Skate is excited to launch its first cohort of Skate’s Stateless Innovation Program — SSIP#1, designed to empower individuals or teams to develop groundbreaking applications and solutions.

Cohort #1–Ideathon with 10k USDC and 10M Ollies in Grants

For this first cohort, we are seeking the best ideas for use cases of Stateless Apps. Skate will be offerring grants of up to $10,000 USDC and 10M Ollies Points.

Grants will be allocated as follows:

  • Top 5 Entries: 2k USDC each
  • Top 20 Entries: 250k Ollies each
  • 20–50: 100k Ollies each
  • 50–100: 40k Ollies each

The best submissions will also gain access to our network of VCs and angels, who are eager to fund innovative stateless applications. This comes with an opportunity to pitch their ideas during a 5 minute presentation at Skate’s upcoming Stateless Demo Day in front of our network of VCs and angels.

These grants are also intended for students who aim to develop stateless solutions and explore new use cases for on-chain applications.

How to Submit a Stateless App Use Case?

Submit your innovative ideas for Use Cases that leverage the unique functionality of Skate. Please refer to the Worldcoin Use Case below. Your submission should be similar in format, length, and depth to be eligible for prizes.

Sample Submission: https://docs.skatechain.org/main/use-cases/case-study/worldcoin

Deadline: September 30, 2024.

Submission Form: https://skate.typeform.com/to/DJtexw5x

Beyond that, your submission must also consider the following points:

  • Problem Solved: Clearly define the problem your idea addresses and the implication for stateless apps.
  • Skate integration: Describe how your idea integrates with Skate’s infrastructure.
  • High-Level Architecture: Provide an overview of the architecture of your use-case. You can use as template this use-case study on Worldcoin stateless approach.
  • Target Users: Identify who will benefit from your solution.

We welcome applications from all fields of type of use-cases, and there are no restrictions on the types of ideas we consider. All submissions will receive an initial response quickly to assess and suggest modifications before the final submission date.
